|  Birding Along the Medina River Dodge Engelman Venue: Medina River Natural Area This relatively new park is fast proving to be a great birding spot. Green Kingfisher, buntings, warblers, orioles and tanagers are regularly found here in season, as well as many woodpeckers, vireos, wrens and sparrows all year. Trails of varying difficult lead through a nice natural area and along the river. They can be enjoyed along, with family, with friends. They are safe and accessible to all. And they serve. Get a behind-the-scenes look at how the San Antonio River and its Riverwalk serve all these functions for visitors and citizens alike. Youth friendly, ages 11-17 accompanied by an adult. | Explore a Cave Under San Antonio: Robber Baron TCMA members Venue: Robber Baron Cave Robber Baron is one of the most significant of the over 500 Bexar County caves. It is the longest cave in the county, one of the most geologically complex caves, and has a rich history. Six blind invertebrate species found nowhere else on earth have been discovered in the cave, two of which are listed endangered by the US Fish and Wildlife Service. On this trip, we will climb and crawl through some of the maze-like passages of this cave. This trip is for participants 10 and older who are in good physical condition and who don’t mind getting dirty. Hiking boot and gloves are suggested. Helmets, lights and kneepads will be provided. WAIVER REQUIRED. | Event Code K004 Start Time 9 AM Venue Fee* $5 Group Size 15 | South Texas Turtles Andrea Coleman Venue: Mitchell Lake Audubon Center After a brief introduction to the biology, ecology and the importance of turtles in a wetland environment, we will venture out into the field to pull turtle traps and see what species we find. The trip will include hands-on experience with turtles.
